The Reek

Croagh Patrick, also known as “The Reek” is Ireland’s holiest mountain, it has had symbolic importance in Christian and pre-Christian times alike.

Every year, on the last Sunday of July thousands of pilgrims make their way up to its summit. Using archive and original footage, this short documentary explores the act of ritual in contemporary society, and the enduring significance of the mountain to those that visit it.
